Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
