Eulogies Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

Well beyond 14 days after the tragic deaths of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community continue to honor the pair.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced spending more time together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the production, remarking that he cannot recall "any day without laughter".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Things that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He ended with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Restricted

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to bar the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order placed a embargo on the files to restrict the public release of "related notes, evidence and photographs" connected to the probe.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Aftermath and Reactions

After the killings, public figures shared divergent responses.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, providing divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan labeled the comments as "shocking" and suggested they revealed a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by proposing that an associate should have intervened when the choice to comment on the death was made.
