The families of teenagers missing after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an agonising period of uncertainty for official news and requesting clues about their children publicly.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of New Year's Day. Verified video reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the victims of the disaster, which killed four dozen individuals and hurt another 119. Officials said on Friday that the majority of the injured have been accounted for, with efforts ongoing to identify the other six.

In the meantime, families and friends have been posting on social media to request clues about their loved ones who were at the bar that evening.

Desperate Searches for the Missing
