At least 64 Fatally Wounded in Rio de Janeiro's Most Extensive Security Action on Criminal Groups
A minimum of 64 civilians lost their lives in a police operation targeting the criminal organization Comando Vermelho in the Brazilian city's north zone - the biggest and most lethal operation in the region's records.
Four police officers were among those killed during the police action in the communities of Alemão and Penha, local authorities reported. In excess of 80 suspects were arrested.
